Olympic RB Brandon Rickett plans to leave it all on the field in his last season as a Trojan
CHSF.com- “What were the goals you set for yourself at the beginning of the season?” Brandon- “I didn’t set any personal goals. I just wanted the team to do well. I want to help the team score as many touchdowns as possible. My focus was towards the overall team.” Olympic RB Brandon Rickett CHSF.com- “How do you see yourself as a leader of this team?” Brandon- “I’m not a get in your face leader, but I try to lead by example. I’m not going to jump on you for doing wrong. I try to do what’s right in every situation.” CHSF.com- “How do you guys start to prepare yourselves for the postseason?” Brandon- “We are going back to the basics with blocking, tackling and running routes. In the playoffs every team will have talent, but the team with the least amount of penalties will win.” CHSF.com- “Tell me a little about some of the training camps you have attended.” Brandon- “I went to VTO camp, Velocity Sports Performance. I also attended Central Football Clinics.” CHSF.com- “What are some of the colleges you are interested in and what type of program are you looking for?” Brandon- “East Carolina, Presbyterian, NC Central and Furman. I’m looking for a team that runs the ball first and passes second.” CHSF.com- “What is it like playing for Coach Shuford and how does he motivate this team?” Brandon- “He’s a disciplinarian first. He will play the guys that work the hardest in practice. He’s also like a father figure.” CHSF.com- “What advice would you give the guys that will be the leaders of this team next year?” Brandon- “Don’t get caught up in outside distractions and what other people have to say about the team. Most importantly, stay focused.” CHSF.com- “Who are some of your role models and who do you get inspiration from?” Brandon- “One of my role models is Clinton Portis. He is my favorite football player and I like the way he runs the ball. My dad is probably my biggest role model. He has taught me to put my school work first.” CHSF.com- “How do you balance your school work with playing football?” Brandon- “As soon as I get done with practice, I try to give myself at least two hours to complete my school work. I also have a part-time job where I go into work at seven o’clock.” Redskins R Clinton Portis CHSF.com- “What would be your most memorable moment in Olympic football?” Brandon- “When we beat South Meck. The team really came together and we realized how much potential we have.” CHSF.com- “I appreciate your time and good luck in the postseason.”
