Independence

Team

Butler
QB Anthony Carrothers is the best offensive player in Charlotte. He is having an MVP year. To this point, no one has been able to stop him.

Quarterback

QB Christian Lemay is considered by some to be the next big thing. Despite him being a soph, he is very poised. Despite playing in front of 20000 people, he has the chance to do very well tonight.
Funny how much changes in a year. RB Rod Chisholm (now at ASU) was the main cog in Indy's offense in 2007. Now it's back to the air show.

Running

Back

People thought Hawatha Bell would have to carry the load at RB as well as LB. But RB Markel Moore is having a great season & is on pace to rush for over 1000 yards this season.

Seriously, are there two better WR's than Lawrence Martin & Michael Rhynes. In additon to them both having great talent, they also have awesome chemistry with Carrothers.

   Wide Rec

Butler has a great scheme led by Nate Charest. Indy will have their hands full against this group.
Always been a strength with Indy. Coach Knotts is a firm believer in proteting your skilled position players.

     O-Line

Steady group up front led by the seniors. Must be able to open holes for the RB's against a solid Indy defense.
"Too Big" Williams & Jarvis Peirce are gone, but this front four hasn't missed a beat. Still haven't allowed a 100 yar rusher all season.

     D-Line

Butler's secondary gets a lot of pub but it's the front-four that does damage as well. They help make it easy for the secondary.
LB Jayme Watson is a very good football player. Excellent in tackling and wrapping up the ball carrier. He & the rest of the LB's will need to do that tonight.

Linebackers

MLB Hawatha Bell is considered by many to be the best LB in NC. I feel he will have a tremendous game tonight because great players make big plays in big games.
Breon Thornton leads this great group. will be interesting to see how they match-up against the great scheme of Coach Newsome & the talented QB Christian Lemay.

Secondary

Nate Charest is a great corner. Him being matched up against Lawrence Martin will be the matchup of the game.

Who wins?

   Independence

Let me first start off by saying that with Butler losing so many great players from last year, I did not think they would be nearly as good. Well I was 100% WRONG. This is a tremendous team from top-to-bottom. No weaknesses at any position. Despite Butler playing at such a high level, I haven't seen any team play as well as Indepedence this year. No team hs played them close all year & Anthony Carrothers is easily the MVP of CHSF. I think it will be a great game on a great night (weather wise), but I think Indy will prevail. CHSF.com predicts Independence over Butler 34-24.
